Lonnie Weiler

Lonnie Weiler of Mayville, age 71, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, with his friends by his side. Lonnie was born January 11, 1950 in Caro. He was a 1968 graduate of Mayville High School where he was a member of the FFA. He was employed with Saginaw Steering Gear from September 17, 1968 until his retirement July 31, 2001. Lonnie grew up working with his grandfather on the family farm where he developed his love for John Deere tractors. He loved being mowing lawn, traveling, taking care of the neighborhood, and spending summers in the U.P.. He also enjoyed hot rods, drag racing, hunting, collecting antiques, and sitting on the porch with an ice-cold Coca Cola watching the kids swing and play. Lonnie was a kind, generous and loving person and cherished time spent with family and friends. Lonnie is survived by his mother, Ruth Elaine VanGuilder; sister, Janice & Joe Smith; his adopted family, Justin & Jennifer Binder and their children, Josanne and Joshua Binder, Jeff & Janice Binder, Jim & Judie Binder, Janet & Dan Bednarski, Joanne (Binder) Pelky, June (Binder) Griffin, Jean & Dan Beckwith, John & Holly Binder, Jackie & Chris Frick, Jane & Rick Vanderpoel, Ernie & Heather Binder, Janell & Chad Harmon. He was preceded in death by his father, Elroy Ernest Weiler; grandparents, Freida & Ernest Weiler; adopted parents, Ernest & Donella Binder; step-father, Mike VanGuilder; and adopted brother, Joe Binder. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
