Loraine Hess

Loraine Hess of Caro, age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, following a lingering illness. She was born February 23, 1927 in Watrousville, the daughter of the late Russell and Ella (Fulerton) Farnum. Loraine was united in marriage with Clyde Leo Hess on August 9, 1947 at the Watrousville United Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1983. She was employed at the Caro State Hospital as a housekeeper, and in her spare time enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending time sharing the family pool with the community. Loraine is survived by three children, Molly Sieland of Roseville, John Hess of Caro, Mark Hess of Caro; brother, Bruce Farnum of Vassar; seven grandchildren, Gina Schell, James (Kelly) Schell, Paul Clara, Christy (Rick) Crittenden, Johnnie (Toni) Hess, Carrie Hess, Amanda (Jeremy) Romain; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ella Sue Cross; five brothers, John, Robert, Duane, Russell and Billie; and three sisters, Beatrice Grabowski, Gloria (Grabitz) Johnson and Virginia Sampson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at the Juniata Township Cemetery in Watrousville.
