Loretta M. Southworth

Loretta M. Southworth of Caro, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Satchell's Assisted Living in Caro. Loretta was born May 12, 1928 in Huntington Woods, the daughter of the late Stanley and Teresa (Maszatics) Conner. She was united in marriage with Edwin Southworth on June 15, 1947 in Bay City. Edwin preceded her in death on October 20, 2009. Loretta was employed as a housekeeper at the Caro Regional Center for twenty-two years, retiring in 1987. Her hobbies included painting, crocheting, sewing and she loved to cook and feed people. Loretta is survived by two sons, two daughters and their spouses, James Southworth of Kalkaska, Jeanne & Dean Frakes, Faye & Tom Childs, all of Caro, Pat & Freda Southworth of Mt. Pleasant; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Holzworth and her husband, Charles, of Caro. In addition to her husband, Loretta was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Southworth in November of 2013. In keeping with Loretta's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating.
