Loretta Caroline Strozeski, age 77, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 11, 2010 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. She was born March 6, 1933 in Port Austin, the daughter of the late Walter & Mary (OBrien) Brining. Loretta was united in marriage with Leonard A. Strozeski on August 1, 1951 in Port Austin, and the couple moved to the Caro area to live in 1956. During the early years of her marriage, Loretta worked in a variety of jobs that included delivering the Detroit News, selling Avon products and working at Rubys Yarn and Fabric Shop. She then began working for Caro Community Schools as a para-professional for over twenty-five years, retiring in 2003. Every student that attended Caro Elementary Schools will remember Mrs. Strozeski as the Playground Lady, a title she enjoyed long after her retirement. Loretta was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and enjoyed using her skills as a seamstress, making wedding and bride maids dresses for family and friends. Surviving are her husband of over fifty-eight years, Leonard A. Strozeski of Caro; five children and their spouses, Mike Strozeski & his fiance, Pam Tumbarella of South Lyon, Mary & Jeff Terry of Caro, Rick Strozeski and his companion, Kelley Cunningham of Vassar, Sherry & Don Wigard of Houghton Lake, Joe Strozeski of Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister and her husband, Pat & George Broome of Seaforth, Ontario, Canada and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam Craig Terry in 1980 and her infant brother, Lawrence Brining in 1931.
