Loretta L. Turner, age 84, of Caro, formerly of Cass City, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born on February 24, 1925 on the family farm in Ellington Township to the late Bert and Augusta (Fadie) King. The former Loretta King married Walter Turner on April 8, 1944. She had been employed for twenty years as an attendant nurse at the Caro Regional Center until her retirement. She loved traveling with her friends and family. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, snowmobiler, and motor cycle rider. She loved horseback riding, amusement parks, family holidays, and her dog, Samson. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Walter F. Turner; four children, Carol Long of Cass City, David (Penny) Turner of Mayville, Thomas (Lori) Turner of Mayville and Deborah (Gary) Wright of Caro; her grandchildren, Sabrina (Mike) Wood, Anthony (Cindy) Moran, Shawna (Tim) Marquardt, Aaron (Kaylee) Long, David (Kristi) Turner, Mark (Jenny) Turner, Tracy (Blue) Conrad, Tina Hendershot, Deedra (Marcus) Baker, Kristi (John) Culbert, Amy (Mike) Bull, Diana Turner, Steven (Shannon) Turner and Kris (Mark) Kelly; her great-grandchildren, Paige, Blain, Bradi and Sidni Wood, Jesse and Derek Moran, Turner and Isaac Marquardt, Carter Long, Ashley Turner, Mariah and Gabrielle Turner, Audrey and Samantha Conrad, Christopher and Kendra Turner, Marley, Lathan and Evan Baker, Justice and Zoe Culbert, Logan and Sophia Bull, Alexandria and Ethan Kelly; her sister, Neva Hendon; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin (Eilene) King, Floyd (Bessie) King and Lewis (Beatrice) King; a niece, Karen King; and three dear friends, Opal Turner, Jeanette Ziegler and Lois Scott. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Bowman, Marlette United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
