Loris G. Dunham, age 81, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro, following a period of declining health. Loris was born May 11, 1928 in Sebewaing, the daughter of the late Rex & Verna (Mauger) Griffin. She was united in marriage with Carson Dunham on May 2, 1946, and graduated from Caro High School the following month. Carson preceded her in death on May 24, 1998. Loris was a vital part of her familys farming operation, and also worked for the Caro Regional Center for many years, first in the kitchen, and would retire as the Food Services Supervisor. She was a devoted wife, friend, and a faithful and active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. Her kindness and love of people were the trademarks of her life, and she enjoyed writing poems to people to express that love. While working at the Regional Center, Loris was a member of a singing quartet and also enjoyed square dancing, traveling and took several mission trips to Kentucky and Guatemala. Loris is survived by one brother and two sisters, Russell Griffin and his wife, Shirley of Caro, Alta May Briggs of Akron and Margaret Montei of Akron; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Paul Dunham and his wife, Janet of Caro, Marjorie Dunham of Caro, June Griffin of Hobe Sound, Florida; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Carson, Loris was preceded in death by two brothers, W. Donald Griffin and his wife, Jean, and Lawrence Griffin; three brothers-in-law, Charles Briggs, Paul Montei and O. D. Dunham; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald & Ova Dunham.
