Lorraine M. Dutcher 1948~2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Mary Lorentz Dutcher. Lorraine passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
Born October 24, 1948 to Mona (Anderson) and Herbert L Lorentz of Sebewaing, Lorraine graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1966. After high school she went to work for the Village of Sebewaing, a job that turned into a lifelong career. She was appointed Deputy Clerk, a position she held for over 40 years. Lorraine and Tim Dutcher married on March 20, 2000. Their number one priority was their family and their home. They also enjoyed many years traveling, playing cards and games and visiting casinos.
Lorraine was dedicated to her career as the Deputy Clerk for the Village of Sebewaing, as well as an active volunteer with the Sebewaing Chamber of Commerce. As a cancer survivor, she devoted countless hours working with the Sebewaing Area Relay for Life. Lorraine loved playing her flute and her piccolo. She enjoyed performing with the Pickle Band, Community Band, and the Delta College Flute Choir. She was a member of the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Chris Fluegge and his wife, Lisa, of Bad Axe, stepsons, Kirk (Kitty) Dutcher and Kyle (Rebekah) Dutcher. She was blessed with six amazing grandchildren: Adam (Dana), Evan (Hannah), Alaina, Jackson, Ella and Jaida. Her three Great Granddaughters, Eliza, Esme and Juniper Rain were the apples of Great Grandma Rain's eye. She is also survived by her siblings – Andrea (David) Voss of California, Maxine (Bill) Kauffold of Sebewaing, Herb (Gail) Lorentz of West Branch, Joan Hebert of Lapeer, Paul (Neisha) of Bay Port and Diane (Randy Luther) Schember, of Pigeon, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Dutcher, parents, Herb and Mona Lorentz, Chris's father, Darl Fluegge, nephew, William Kauffold II and brother-in-law, Don Hebert.
