Lorraine Jakubos

Lorraine G. Jakubos, age 82, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility following a lingering illness. She was born March 20, 1928 in Caro, the daughter of the late Frank & Mary (Potrzuski) Besky. Following graduation from Caro High School in 1946, Lorraine was employed as an Attendant Nurse at the Caro Regional Center, retiring in 1972. She was united in marriage with Carl C. Jakubos on January 22, 1951 in Bay City, and he survives her. Lorraine enjoyed being with her family, baking and cooking for them and working in her flower garden. In addition to her husband of more than fifty-nine years, Lorraine is survived by three children, Sandra L. Rieck of Caro, C. Jon Jakubos of Sandwich, New Hampshire, Bonnie L. Jakubos and her husband, Ken Thacker of Salmon, Idaho; six grandchildren, Beth & Doug Lagos of Cass City, Amy Rieck of Lake Orion, Jason & Christie Jakubos of Roseburg, Oregon, Kevin & Valerie Jakubos of Reno, Nevada, Ryne Jakubos of Arizona, Karen Gray of Roseburg, Oregon; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, one brother and their spouses, Mildred & James Sewell, Janet & Jimmy Senclair, Ruth Stevens, Fred & Alberta Hess; many nieces and nephews and her beloved Border Collie, Sheppie. Lorraine was preceded in death by three sisters, Reta Jakubos, Margaret Hiser and Barbara Hess; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Lagos and son-in-law, Roger Rieck.
