Louis Ahern

Louis “Tuffy” Ahern, age 84 years, of Bliss Rd., Caro, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at Caro Community Hospital. He was born on January 4, 1921, in Detroit. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On May 9, 1959, Louis married the former Viola (Ewald) Bills in Romulus, Michigan. He was a retiree from Ford Motor Company, having been employed there for 34 years. In 1974 Duffy and Viola moved to their property on Bliss Rd. Louis was of the Catholic faith and a member of Caro V.F.W. Post #4164 and the Caro Moose Lodge #1049. He enjoyed drawing, playing cards, and had a fetish for old transistor radios. Tuffy was an avid Detroit Tiger fan, through good times and bad. Louis is survived by his wife, Viola; one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Ila McCranie of Carleton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, five brothers and two sisters; and a grandson, Ray Lee McCranie. The funeral service will be held: AT: Collon Funeral Home in Caro ON: Saturday, September 3, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. WITH: Chaplain Charles McConnell from Caro V.F.W. POST #4164 officiating Following the service, military honors will be afforded by Caro V.F.W. Post # 4164. Burial will be: AT: Mallet Cemetery, New Boston, Wayne County, Michigan ON: Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be: AT: Collon Funeral Home in Caro ON: Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Caro V.F.W.
