Louise Dorothy Ann Krohn

Louise D. Krohn, age 98, of Elkton died Friday afternoon, January 31, at Willow Tree Haven, Gagetown while under hospice care.
She was born October 31, 1904 at the home of her parents, the late William and Herlanda (Hoegy) Ewald in Oliver Twp. North of Elkton. Accept for the last several years she lived her entire life with in a couple of miles of where she was born.
On December 23, 1926, she was united in marriage to Roy W. Krohn at her parents home in Oliver Twp. Mr. Krohn preceded her in death October 13, 1973.
Mrs. Krohn taught at numerous country schools in the county. After taking time out to raise a family, she began teaching elementary students first at Kinde North Huron and then at Unionville-Sebewaing Schools until retiring in 1970.
She was the oldest member of the Elkton United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school many years, long time treasurer of the Elkton Senior Citizens Club, member of the Huron County Retired Teachers Assn. and Elkton Civic Club.
Surviving are three children, Ronald (Donna) Krohn and Kenneth Krohn of Elkton and Marjorie (Richard) Hall of Cass City; daughter-in-law, Barb Krohn of Elkton; twelve grandchildren, David, Randy, Brenda, Rebecca, Curtis, Carolyn, Charlie, Heidi, Elizabeth, Paula, Michelle and Dale; 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Shuart and Herlanda McPhail both of Bad Axe and a sister-in-law, Onalee Ewald of Elkton. Preceding her in death were her son, Bruce and her sibling, Luella Young, Clayton Ewald, Fred Ewald and Helen Ewald.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, February 2, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Douglas Bassett, Hartland Hospice Chaplain will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Memorial may be given to Hartland Hospice or the Elkton United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 3 to 9 PM Saturday and at the church after 1 PM Sunday.
