Lowell Charles Fritz, age 71, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on November 11, 1940 in Columbia Township, Michigan, the son of the late Norman and Leone (Kennedy) Fritz. Lowell was raised in Caro, and attended Columbia Corners, Abke, Remington, and Darbee Country Schools before attending and graduating from Caro High School with the class of 1960. He continued his education at Mott Community College, attained his RN degree, and a Master of Arts from the University of Michigan in Flint. Lowell was employed for thirty-two years at the Caro Regional Center, while working part-time at Caro Community Hospital and the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. During his retirement and through the years, he loved music, and enjoyed playing the organ, flute, alto sax, as well as the companionship of his dogs. Lowell enjoyed making and painting ceramics, and had owned ceramic shops in Caro, Vassar and Cass City. Lowell is survived by his brother and his wife, Francis & Patience Fritz of Saginaw; his niece and nephew, Francis Fritz, Jr. of Arizona and Ann Fritz of Saginaw; four daughters and one son, Tammy Fritz Garner, Pamela Fritz, Katherine Fritz Davis, Kimberly Fritz Cox, all of Huntsville, Alabama, and John Bender of Caro; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Wahjamega Country Church with Pastor Phil Karkin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Michigan Heart Association, or Michigan Special Olympics.
