Lucile E. Geiger, of Sebewaing, age 90, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Auburn Care Center in Auburn following a lengthy illness. She was born December 7, 1920 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late David and Hazel (Wilson) Knibb. She was united in marriage to Nelson W. Geiger on April 14, 1945 in Alhambra CA. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1969.

Lucile was a teacher at the Unionville-Sebewaing Area Elementary School for 18 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing; the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and Mary Martha Guild. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking.

Surviving are one son, 3 daughters and spouses; Greg (Jan) Geiger, Saginaw; Linda Geiger, Sebewaing; Marsha (Jackson) Rogers, Vancouver, Canada; Joey Dauer, Ranier, Oregon: 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; also 3 sisters-in-law, Alice Knibb, St. Louis, MO; Marie Geiger, Sebewaing; Pat Martin, Henderson, NC; 2 brothers-in-law, Stan Thorne, Olympia, WA; Bill Martin, Henderson, NC, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Ambelang and one brother, Edwin Knibb.

The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Rev. Michael Boyer will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday. She will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 11am.
