Lucille Curry

Lucille Faye Curry, age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Marlette United Hospice Residence, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Lucy was born June 10, 1943 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Clair and Orlena (Nowland) Brief, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Caro High School in 1962 and was united in marriage to Berton Curry on May 18, 1963 in Caro. Lucy was employed for Probation and Parole in Caro for thirty-seven years as a secretary, retiring in July of 2006. Shortly after her retirement, Lucy was deputized by the Tuscola County Sheriff, and worked as a clerk at the Sheriffs office. Lucy was also a caregiver for many individuals over the past twenty years, and will be best remembered for her kind heart and love of people. She was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge and enjoyed cooking, reading and shopping, especially when it involved spoiling her grandchildren. Lucy is survived by her loving husband of over forty-five years, Bert Curry of Caro; two children and their spouses, Suzanne Chad Larsen of Marquette and Patrick Jodi Curry of Waterford; two grandchildren, Ida Larsen and Brenden Curry; and six sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by four brothers.
