Lucille "Tewey" Moore

Lucille “Tewey” (Jaques) Moore of Caro, age 93, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Northwood Meadows in Cass City. Tewey was born October 29, 1930, in Lansing, the daughter of the late Jerome and Hazel (Dean) Jaques. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1948. During high school, Tewey worked at Palmer Drug Store, and after high school she went to work for the Caro State Hospital, then Woolworths, and retired in 1995 from Michigan Bean Elevator as a bookkeeper/clerk/accountant. A savvy entrepreneur and astute businesswoman, Tewey possessed an innate understanding of the power of money. She loved shopping and collecting items that nobody saw value in but her, and she always looked forward to her daily UPS deliveries; it didn’t matter what was in the box, just the delivery was enough. Tewey had a shoe collection that would rival Imelda Marcos’ and she was always so proud to show off HER cottage, boat, and car (even though she didn’t drive). She recently gained an extensive Facebook following through her daughter’s postings and was really hoping to reach 100 years of age so that her photo and name could be on the television. Known lovingly as “GRAMBO” to many, Tewey was a force to be reckoned with, facing life's challenges head-on with a spunkiness and tenacity that inspired all who knew her. No obstacle was too daunting for her indomitable spirit; she approached each hurdle with grace and determination, emerging stronger and more resilient with every triumph. Tewey was never without a puzzle book, and she was the only person you’d know to do a Sudoku Puzzle with an ink pen; a true testament to her intelligence. Her feistiness and love will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Gail Lesoski; granddaughters, Kristy Gohs, Jamie Tinsley, and Stephanie Adams; great-grandchildren, Seth Howey, Gabriel Gohs, Logan Gohs, Gavin Tinsley, Lillian Tinsley, and Madalynn Adams; sister, Marcelene Morris; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Moore; daughter, Denise Neuenschwander; son, Brian Moore; brothers, Keith Jaques and Robert Jaques; and son-in-law, James Lesoski.
