Lucille M. Noble, age 101, was promoted to glory, and celebrated her heavenly birth on December 25, 2009 as the world was rejoicing in Christs birth. She was born July 22, 1908 in Fairgrove, the daughter of the late Myron S. & Linnie A. (Aldrich) Hall. Lucille graduated from Fairgrove High School at the age of fifteen and the Tuscola County Normal in 1926. She taught at the Godkin School in Gilford Township for two years and at the Darbee School in Almer Township for another two years before her marriage. Lucille was united in marriage with James R. Noble on August 5, 1931 in Fairgrove. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1970. In addition to caring for her family, Lucille was very active in the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church and continued her education at Central Michigan University, graduating with a B.S. Degree in Education in 1959. She resumed her teaching career in 1953, and taught fourth grade in the Akron-Fairgrove Schools, retiring in 1973. Lucilles life revolved around her church, love of God, and family. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards, especially Bridge and Pinochle. She was a member of four Bridge clubs in Caro that met weekly, a Pinochle group, the Red Hatters, the Caro Garden Club, and was the Caro Chamber Merit Award recipient in 1990. Lucille leaves to cherish her memory one son, one daughter and their spouses, Jerry & Janey Noble of Fairgrove, Karen & Vic Sonquist of Caro; her daughter-in-law, Sandy and her husband, Dale Pike of Fairgrove; five granddaughters and their spouses, Marcia & Gary Harrington of Waterford, Revs. Marsha & Greg Roth of Fremont, California, Jodi & Larry Haubenstricker of Fairgrove, Shannon & Brian Guettler of Bay City, Roni & Ed Ervin of Waterford; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda and Joe Roth, Katelyn Haubenstricker, Danielle and Adam Guettler, Makayla and Emily Ervin; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Findlay of Frankenmuth and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was welcomed into heaven by her husband of thirty-nine years, James R. Noble; one son, Robert Noble; one daughter, Maralyn K. Penberthy; grandsons, baby John Noble and Michael A. Noble; great-grandson, baby Joey Ervin; and three brothers and one sister.
