Lucille A. Sayers, age 89, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Caro Community Hospital following a period of declining health. Lucille was born August 26, 1918 in Fremont Township, the daughter of the late Daniel Ella (Clark) Cranick and was a lifelong area resident. She was united in marriage to Francis Darling in 1939. Francis passed away tragically in 1943. Following his death, Lucille took his position at A.C. Spark Plug in Flint for the remainder of World War II. Following the war, Lucille returned to Caro and married Dale Murphy in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1981. During her marriage to Dale, she was employed as a waitress at the Hotel Montague and later at the Steel Wool Plant in Caro. Lucilles final marriage of over twenty-three years was to Howard E. Sayers on June 12, 1982 in Caro. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2005. Lucille was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church and the Polish American Club. She enjoyed dancing, especially at the annual Senior Ball, and going to the HDC Meal Site in Caro. Lucille is survived by six nieces and nephews, Carole Jack Hudson of Dimondale, Lois Charles Spaulding of Caro, Brenda Brock of Bay City, Donald Janet Cranick of Lapeer, Marvin Delores Cranick of Fairgrove, Linda Crookedacre of Lapeer; several great-nieces and nephews; four step-children, Dick Sayers of Saginaw, Lewis Joan Sayers, Karen Mike Kubiak and Kent Sayers, all of Caro. In addition to her three husbands, Lucille was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Marvin Cranick, Martha Koza, Alton Cranick, Goldie Johnson and one niece, Suann Root.
