Lucille Fay Ziel

Lucille Fay Ziel, 83, of Sebewaing, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at her home following a long illness.

She was born on November 11, 1937 in Bay Port to the late Roy and Bernice (Quick) Lawrence.  Lucille graduated from Bay Port High School in 1955.  Upon graduation she began employment at McIntyre Insurance.  She was later employed at the Bad Axe ASC office and retired from the Cooperative Elevator Co. after serving for thirteen years.  On February 11, 1961 Lucille was united in marriage to Robert Ziel at the Bay Port R.L.D.S. Church. 60 years of marriage was celebrated with family members.  Lucille was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh.

Lucille was the proud mother of her four children: Douglas (Mary), twins Kevin (Lisa) and Kim (Tracy) and Jennifer.  She was grandmother to Ashley (Derek), Andrew (Sarah), Amber (Russel), Cory (Katie), Kelsey (Drake) and Cassandra (Carter); great-grandma (GiGi) to Asa, Luka, Mabel and Julian; step-grandmother to Ashley Kreh, Caleigh and Sidney Rasmussen and step great-grandmother to Treyjin, Gage and Payton.  Lucille is also survived by her sisters Shirley Dubs and Janet (Ron) Heckman; sisters-in-law Diane Dubey, Shirley Deering, Ellen (John) Tolloff, Janet Deering and Ruth (Doug) Brenner and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wayne Lawrence; in-laws Rudolf and Ella Ziel; sister-in-law Delores Smith, brothers-in-law Jim Dubs, Harold Deering, Jim Smith and Ralph Deering.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday, November 11 ^th at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh with Pastor Thom Garrison officiating.  Burial will be in the New Bay Port Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 Wednesday at Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
