Lucy C. Ruth, age 81, died Tuesday afternoon, April 15, at Scheurer Hospital Long Term with her family by her side.
She was born April 10, 1927 in Lake Twp. at the home of her parents the late Nicholas and Mary (Stirrett) Yax.
On May 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Francis "Frank" Ruth at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. They lived and raised their family on a farm near Gotts Corner. Frank preceded her in death July 19, 1988.
Lucy was a life long member of St. Felix Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was a past member of the Daughters of Isabella and Caseville Eagles Auxiliary.
She, like all of her siblings was very musical; her part in the family band was on the piano. Besides her music, she enjoyed cooking and baking, flower gardening, taking walks and being with her family.
Surviving are ten children, Elaine (Dave) Peyok of Reese, Rita (Chris) Bacik of Warren, Shirley Ruth of St. Clair, Donna (Don) Peyok of Reese, Mike (Karen) Ruth of Bad Axe, Carolyn (John) Adamczyk of Caro, Tommy (Lorie) Ruth of Kalamazoo, Dale Ruth of Otsego, Mary (Dennis) McIlhargie of Pigeon and Jim (Linda) Ruth of Pigeon. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; five brothers, George (Hazel) Yax of Caro, Jerry (Marion) Yax of Lake Twp., Larry (Pat) Yax of Taylor, Dick (Linda) Yax of Canton and Duane Yax of Waterford; six sisters, Agnes Klemmer of Bad Axe, Marguerite Herriman of Kinde, Gladys Reilly of Lake Twp., Jean McGeachy of Dearborn, Annabel Stolicker of Lake Twp. and Sandra (Ed) Klee of Hoffman Estates, IL and many many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, April 18, at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
A rosary service with be conducted 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from 2 to 9 PM and at the church after 10 AM Friday.
