Lucy Mae White, age 73, of Caro, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Satchells Christian Retirement Home. She was born on February 6, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Ray and Naomi (Robertson) Northcutt. She graduated from high school and met Robert White while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force in Louisiana. They were married on November 25, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Troy. Bob preceded her in death on December 31, 2004. Lucy owned and operated the Village Bridal Shop in Caro, and then was employed as a manufacturing associate with General Motors until her retirement. She has occupied much of her spare time, especially following retirement, with playing cards, gardening, cooking and golf. She is survived by her daughters, Sue (Bruce) Findlay of Caro, Linda Kitchen of Commerce Township and Nancy (Robert) Dekker of Hamilton; eight grandchildren and spouses, Ashley Putnam and Ben Harber of Commerce Township, Meagan (Chris) Stevenson of Dearborn, Rebecca Findlay of Caro, Jamie Varney and Jayson Gonzales of Commerce Township, Jon Kitchen of Commerce Township and Michael, Jeffrey and Douglas Dekker of Hamilton; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Northcutt. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Caro on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Wigand officiating. Burial will be at Ellington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Home Health Care Hospice, 2575 N.
