Luella Romain

Luella May Romain, age 89, of Caro, passed away on January 11, 2010 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center in Mayville. She was born on December 24, 1920 in Caro to the late Charles and Nettie Minnie (Hovey) Uhan. The former Luella Uhan married Vincent Romain on September 2, 1944 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1972. Luella was a lifelong resident of Caro and a homemaker, mother, and farm wife throughout her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by four children, Janet (Paul) Dunham of Caro, Gail (Charles) Dennis of Caro, Randy Romain of Caro and Jane Romain of Caro; six grandchildren, Michelle (Bob) West of Bay City, Melinda (Tom) Summers of Gagetown, Angela (Marshell) Lambertson of Interlochen, Troy (Tonya) Dennis of Caro, Jody (Ron) Traster of Plymouth, Mark Romain of Pontiac; and nine great-grandchildren, Justin, Luke, Michael, Kaylee, Todd, Tristen, Noah, Adam and Joshua. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Boyd Romain; an infant daughter, Mary Lou Romain; a step-sister, Myrtle Parsell; a step-brother, Merrill VanGuilder; and one brother, John Uhan. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to The Human Development Endowment Foundation or the Luella Romain family discretionary fund, c/o Jane Romain, 302 S. State St., Caro, Michigan.
