Lula Hile

Lula M. Hile, age 94 years of Caro, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Rendons Young at Heart AFC Home in Caro. She was born on October 27, 1911 in Sandusky to the late Charles and Sara (Hendrick) Cutler. The former Lula Cutler and Harland (Hap) T. Hile were married on April 11, 1931. He preceded her in death in November of 1984. She had been employed at Dibbles, the Clark Canning Company, Collins Shoe Store as well as being a Star Route mail carrier. Lula was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Rebekah Lodge #168 for 72 years, as well as the Caro Women of the Moose. She had been a longtime member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church. Lula was a great Mother, Mother-in-law, and Grandmother, She will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son and his wife, Gerald and Judy Hile of Caro; a daughter-in-law, Lynn (Lenora) Hile of Caro; five grandchildren; eighteen great-grandhildren, ten great-great-grand-children and one great-great-great-grandchild; a sister, Etta (Sarah) Bennett of Caro; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ruth Cutler of Saginaw; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Harland J. Hile and infant, Dale; an infant daughter, Barbara; and two sisters, Nettie Riley and Alice Carpenter. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, August 31, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Payne, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Watrousville United Methodist Church, United Hospice or the charity of the donors choice.
