Lydia Jacoby

Lydia Jacoby, age 101, of Akron, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Brian's House in Bay City.

Lydia was born in Worden, Montana on January 8, 1918, to Henry and Anna (Kinsfather) Balzer, Sr. Lydia married Henry Jacoby on December 5, 1937, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. She enjoyed her life and being with her family.

Lydia is survived by 2 children: Dorothy L. (Erwin) Houthoofd of Akron and Jonathan (Denise) Jacoby of Millsdat, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.

Lydia is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son, Clifford (survived by Carolyn Willer); 4 brothers: Alex, Samuel, Henry and William Balzer; and sister, Anna Wolf.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 5-9pm.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 10, 2019, at Wisner United Methodist Church, 5375 N. Vassar Rd., Akron. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at Demorest Cemetery in Akron Twp. at 2:30pm.

Memorial donations may be given to Christ the King Lutheran School, Bay Shore Camp, Brian's House or Wisner United Methodist Church.
