M. Frances "Frankie" Armbruster

M. Frances "Frankie" Armbruster, age 90 of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Tendercare in Cass City.
Born in Kinde on June 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Marie (Reilly) McIlhargie, and graduated in 1937 at age 16 from Pigeon High School. Following graduation, she worked at the Pigeon Cooperative Elevator for many years. On January 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Armbruster in Pigeon. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1993.
Frances worked for 25 years as a receptionist at Nietzke Faupel, and delivered flowers for Flowers by MariAnne for three years. She was the Village of Pigeon treasurer for many years.
Frances was a member of the Farm Bureau Women, and was active in the community and events of her family. She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Frank) Sarcheck of Walled Lake; three sons, James (Tammy) Armbruster of Chandler, Arizona, Thomas (Debra) Armbruster of Cass City, and David (Debra) Armbruster of Pigeon; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo (Mary) McIlhargie of Caseville and Reilly Thiel of Saginaw; several step sisters and step brothers; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Laura Armbruster.
The Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon, with Fr. John Weis officiating. Burial will be in Grandlawn Cemetery.
A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon.
Memorials may be made to Scheurer Hospital, Heartland Hospice, or St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.

Visitation at Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, will be:

Wednesday, August 3 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
