Mabel Ruth Herman

Mabel Ruth Herman, 80 of Owendale, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Abbe Acres.
Born in Yakima, Washington on March 14, 1933, Mabel was the daughter of the late Rev. Allen G. and Mabel E. (DeGroat) Herman. Mabel lived in the Owendale home of Berniece and Dennis Abbe and worked at Thumb Industries for many years. She loved socializing, having visitors, and meeting with family for special occasions such as Christmas and birthdays. Mabel enjoyed giving handmade crafts to family and friends as gifts.
Her survivors include two sisters, Lillian (Willard) Williams and Suzanne Schember, both of Pigeon; and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Herman of Lansing and Eileen Herman of Pigeon. Mabel is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great- and great great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Elmer, Gilbert, Donald, and Paul; and one sister, Della Trudgen.
A Funeral Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Country Gardens, Pigeon, with Rev. Willard Williams, retired pastor, officiating. Interment will take place at Grandlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
