Mabel M. Herman

Mabel M. Herman, age 88, of Sebewaing, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home, in Bad Axe.

Mabel was born January 11, 1930, in Pigeon, to August and Emma (Bock) Naffien. She married Louis Chester Herman. Mabel worked at General Cable Company, enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and making and decorating cakes for the last 30 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Mabel is survived by her son, Larry (Sharon) Herman; grandchildren: Dale (Angie) Herman, Connie Herman, Annette Carson, Louie Carson and Nick (Annette) Kata; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; daughter: Nancy (survived by husband Eugene) Kata; siblings: John Naffien, Walt Naffien, Albert Naffien, Elmer Naffien, Lillian McGathy, Clara Kipfer, Helen Samsyck, Alma Harder and Dorothy Dufty.

Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2018, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
