Mabel C. Roller

Mabel C. Roller of Unionville, age 95 passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Mabel was born April 13, 1925 in Sebewaing, the daughter of the late Eugene and Ida (Hofmeister) Kunisch and graduated from Sebewaing High School. She was united in marriage with Donald F. Roller on May 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1998. They farmed together for many years and later Mabel went to work for Tuscola County Co-operative Extension in Caro, retiring in 1986 after twenty years of employment as secretary and office coordinator. She also was a dedicated 4-H leader for many years which she truly loved. Mabel was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family as often as she could. She was an avid coupon collector for many years and loved picking fruit from the trees in her yard and then making pies and bread to share with whomever she could. Mabel really enjoyed working as often as possible in her yard and flower gardens, which were a work of art! Mabel was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville the entire time she lived in Unionville, and in later years transferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Mark & Ann Roller of Texas, Clare & Sharon Roller of Mayville, & Rebecca and Tim Bates of Caro; grandchildren and their spouses, Karrie & Jesse Sias, David Roller, Dawn & Daniel Deshetsky, Troy & Brooke Roller; step-grandchildren and their spouses, Jodi Monacelli Stepnik & Scot, Scott Bates & Sue, Kelly Balhorn Gabel & Dennis, and Ellen Balhorn; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; one niece, Paula (Kevin) Green; and one great-nephew and one great-niece. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-law, Walt and (Helen) Kunisch and Arnold Kunisch; and two step-grandchildren, Cevin and Calvin Bell. In keeping with Mabel's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating.
