Mabel Irene Sturm, 101, of Pigeon, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care Unit.

She was as comfortable balancing credits and debits as she was winning blue ribbons for racing and square dancing on her horse Sam at the Fair. She was a gifted crafter in crochet, quilting, cooking and a generous volunteer of her time to help others.
She is survived by her son Lynn of Pigeon and Laurel (Leon) Errer of Ann Arbor; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Alan, brother James, and her dog Skip.
Funeral services are Noon Thursday, December 28th at the Pigeon First United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10AM Thursday in church and continue until the service at Noon.
