Mabel Katherine Tait

Mabel Katherine Tait of Caro, age 83, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the United Hospice Residence in Marlette following a brief illness. She was born July 28, 1930 in Deford, the daughter of the late William F. & Fern Iva (Roberts) Zemke. Following graduation from high school, Mabel finished two years of business school. She was united in marriage with Boyd F. Tait on December 26, 1951 in Caro. He preceded her in death July 19, 2003. Mabel attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and very much enjoyed playing Bridge and often substituted in various local bridge groups. Mabel is survived by two daughters, Rebecca and her husband, Randy Stec of Caro and Sarah C. Tait of Caro; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mabel was preceded in death by one brother, William H. Zemke, Jr. in 2010. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro with Rev. John Ladd officiating. Burial will follow at Novesta Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
