Madalyn J. Krause, age 86, of Elkton died Wednesday morning, July 29, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.
She was born January 15, 1923, at the home of her parents, the late Arthur and Carolyn (Holtz) Seley in Elkton and lived in the Elkton area most of her life.
On June 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clayton E. Krause at the Elkton Evangelical United Brethren Church. After their marriage, they moved to Flint for several years, returning to Elkton in 1944. He preceded her in death March 22, 2006.
Madalyn was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and home. She loved gardening both flowers and vegetables.
She was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church and was very active in the Elkton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two children, Kathleen (Jack) Ginter of Elkton and Michael (Grace) Krause of Bad Axe; six grandchildren, Kelly (Greg) Hovermale of Westland, Shelly (Christopher) Conrad of Frisco, TX, Jackie (Rich) Groff of Peoria, AZ, Ryan (Carrie) Krause of Clarkston, Abbie, London of Bad Axe and Lindsey Krause of Caseville; nine great grandchildren, Teagan London, Steven, Austin, Jonathan and Autumn Hovermale, Christian and Jordyn Conrad and Jackson and Kelsey Groff; one brother Willard Seley of Grant Twp; two sisters, Marjorie (Wayne) Campbell of Bad Axe and Genevieve Faupel of Saline and two sisters-in-law, Ora Krause of Florida and Grace Krause of Berkley.
Preceding her in death were her brother, Leonard Seley and sister, Audrey Bouck.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday at the Elkton United Methodist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Sunday and at the church after 10 AM Monday.
Memorials may be directed to the Huron County Medical Care Facility or the Elkton United Methodist Church.
