Manly E. McComb, age 95, formerly of Caseville and Caro, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona while under hospice care.
Manly was born October 28, 1914 in Grant Township to the late Floyd and Mabel (Fay) McComb. He married Theresa Gazafe in 1936 in Cass City. She preceded him in death in early 1988. He then married Ruth Bouck at the Caseville United Methodist Church in Caseville later in 1988. Ruth also preceded him in death in 2005.
Manly served briefly in the US Navy during World War II. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic, retiring in 1979 from the State of Michigan Highway Department. He was a lifelong Thumb resident, only moving to Arizona in the past few years to be near his son.
He is survived by his son Paul of Phoenix; granddaughters Melissa and April; great-grandson Ian; sister Harriet Collins of Sand Point; and sister-in-law Shirley McComb of Caro.
He was preceded in death by wives, his daughter Linda, brothers Harold, Fay, Frank and sisters Irene Radovic, Helene Burns.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Tuesday, April 6th at the Pinnebog United Methodist Church with Pastor David Freeland officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.
Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville is handling the arrangements.
