Manuel Vernon Garza

Manuel V. Garza, 81, of Sebewaing, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City.

Manuel was born March 22, 1936 in Castorville, Texas to the late Alejandro and Suzie (Martinez) Garza.  He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He married Evangelina Flores on June 6, 1957 in Pigeon.  He retired from Active Industries in Sebewaing.

He is survived by his wife Evangelina; children Richard of Detroit, Leonard (Peggy) of Sandusky, Beatrice of Sebewaing and Anthony (Shellie) of Bad Axe; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters Irene Gonzales, Martha and Marcie Garza.  He was preceded in death by his son Rolando and brothers Roman, Joe, Ruben and Alex.

A funeral mass will be 10:00am Tuesday, January 30 ^th at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon with Fr. Robert Pare presiding.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  He will lie in-state an hour before mass in church.  Memorials may be made to the family.
