Marcella E. Green

Marcella E. Green of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Caro, age 74, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at her home in Aurora, Colorado. Marcella was born March 29, 1940 in Detroit, the daughter of the late George & Marcella (Kurpowic) Strand, grew up in Mayville, moved to Caro as a young adult and lived there until moving to Tawas and then on to Colorado. She graduated from Mayville High School, and worked at Trudeau's Bakery in Caro, Fisher Convalescent Home in Mayville and Starboard Manufacturing in East Tawas. In her later years, she was employed as a security guard at Denver International Airport. She loved to crochet and knit, was a drummer in a Polka band, and was very active at the Polish Hall. Marcella also loved to cook and make people laugh. Marcella is survived by two children and their spouses, Chad & Amber Green of Allegan, Lisa Green Perry & Ginger Perry of Littleton, Colorado; five grandsons, Chad Jr., Vince, Ryan, Wyatt, Grayson; one brother, Carl & Toni Strand of Tawas City; two sisters, Katherine Davis of Davison and Anna Urban of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Campus in Caro, with Rev. John Ladd officiating. Entombment will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
