Margaret Belle Blake , age 86, of Sebewaing, formerly of Rochester Hills, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Scheurer Hospital Acute Care in Pigeon, Michigan.
Margaret was born March 12, 1935 in Washington, D.C., to Frances "Frank" Kennedy and Florence (nee Salzman) Kennedy. After graduating from Chamberlain High School in Washington D.C., she married John H. Blake on June 25, 1966, at St. Peters Lutheran Church on Michigan Avenue in the north east quadrant of Washington D.C. In her younger years she was very involved in helping the Salvation Army. She also loved taking care of her family. She spent her whole life raising many wonderful children along with her own. She will be remembered for being a fierce and feisty protector of her family. Along with taking care of her family, she also liked to cook, enjoyed eating sweets, working crossword puzzles, and cats.
Margaret is survived by her loving children: Gregory (Margaret Dalton) Kennedy, Laura (David) Cook and Linda Blake; grandchildren: Pamela (Ted) Hanna, James (Sarah) Kennedy, Zachary Cook, April Cook, Bailey Weir, Nichole Blake, Dylian Jackson, Kendall Jackson and Ellen Jackson; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jerod, Mason, Jesse, Raynor and Arion; many nieces, nephews, and special friends, Tami and Scott Jackson.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Blake; daughter, Susan Blake; and siblings: Harvey Kennedy, Norman Kennedy and Melvin Kennedy.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, December 31, 2021, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, 538 S. Beck St., Sebewaing, MI. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Memorial donations may be given to the family or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
