Margaret Deverna

Margaret DeVerna, age 87 years, of Florida, formerly of Caro, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at her daughters home in Miami, Florida. She was born on May 12, 1921 in Ellington Township, Tuscola County, Michigan to the late Richard and Florence (Parsell) Wright. The former Margaret Wright married William Harry DeVerna on September 13, 1937 in Midland. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1989. Margaret retired in 1982 from G.M. Fisher Body where she was supervisor of trim engineering. She also did upholstery for boats and cars on the side. Margaret loved fishing and traveling, especially out west. She was an active member of Key Largo Baptist Church. She is survived by three children, Rev. Wayne (Virginia) DeVerna of White Lake, Patricia Nolen of Miami, Florida and Sharon Snay of Miami, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. DeVernas son, Rev. Wayne DeVerna, officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Oxbow Lake Baptist Church Building Fund, 10730 Elizabeth Lake Road, White Lake, MI 48386.
