Margaret Sanchez

Margaret A. Sanchez, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her home. She was born April 14, 1938 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Albert and Stella (Hergo) Kish. Her family moved from the Detroit area to Carsonville when she was a child and lived there until after her graduation from high school. The family then moved to Caro and Margaret began employment at the Clark Canning Company where she met the love of her life. She was united in marriage with Gonzalo “Mickey” Sanchez on February 22, 1958 in Caro. Mickey preceded her in death on September 21, 1993. After working at the canning company, she and Mickey went to work at General Cable in Cass City, until her retirement. Margaret was a very social person, and in addition to her devotion to her family, she was very active in TOPS. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and “shootin the breeze” on the phone. Margaret is survived by four children, Mickey J. Sanchez, of Centennial, Colorado, Marie Ann McClendon and Lyle Reynolds of Saginaw, Carmen Stevens and James Walker of Caro and Lisa (Mike) Whelton of Saginaw; five grandchildren, Nicole and Kristina Sanchez and their mother, Monica Drayton of Aurora, Colorado, Meleia, Michael, Jr. and Mitchell Whelton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Albert Kish, Jr. and his wife, Mary, Stella Havlicsek and Louie, Frank Kish, Sr. and Dorothy; a son-in-law, Howard E. Mc Clendon, Sr.; and an infant brother. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Arnold Burger officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to TOPS.
