Margaret A. Volz

Margaret A. Volz, age 84, of Sebewaing, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw.

Margaret was born May 11, 1931, in Sebewaing, to the late Henry and Ella (Elsesser) Anderson. On December 28, 1950, she married Frederick Volz in Pigeon. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2000. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for Volz Electric for about 40 years. In her earlier years she enjoyed golfing, Bridge Clubs, traveling, wintering in Florida, and sewing. She was a member of New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Margaret is survived by her children: David (Karen) Volz of Frankenmuth and Joann Brooks of Sebewaing; son-in-law, Kevin Hickey; 5 grandchildren: Rachel (Todd) Solgat, Benjamin (Artisha) Volz, Matthew Brooks, Andreas Hickey and Kyle Hickey; and 5 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Julie Hickey.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place privately at Silverlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to New Salem Lutheran Church or Lion's Club: Leader Dog for the Blind.
