Margaret J. Wilhelm age 94 of St Ignace, formerly of Caseville died Wednesday evening, January 27, at Cedar Cove Assistant Living in Cedarville.
She was born September 8, 1915 in Detroit to the late Edmond and Edith (Chamberlain) Donohue, of strong Irish and English descent. She attended school at St. Gabriels in Detroit, and when in her teens, the family moved to Sylvan Lake. There she meet and married Joseph Arthur Wilhelm On February 1, 1939, st St. Vincent dePaul Church in Pontiac. He preceded her in death in 1986.

She worked at Pontiac Motors a short time and also at the Pontiac School System, and was well known as a giving and caring volunteer lady. The family moved to Caseville where she had served as president of the Caseville Library Club, president of Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and president of the Farm & Garden Organization. She had also been very active in the Order of St. Francis, Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church and St. Roch Catholic Church and Altar Society; the , and and Altar Society. She moved to St Ignace 18 years ago to be nearer her family and became a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. Margaret also volunteered at the Ojibowa Museum in St Ignace. Her daughters remembered her making paper dolls, sewing stuffed dolls out of socks and lavishly decorating the house for all holidays. She was a fantastic artist, and all of the family have water color paintings, small clay sculptures and drawing she made. She loved the outdoors, loved to go deer hunting, but never took a gun, just spent time with her husband. She spent time with her grandchildren playing board games and jacks. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and very friendly lady,and even to the end when in assisted living.

Surviving are four daughters, Jo (Gordon) Kurlonko of Hessel, Mary Bailog of Union Lake, Elizabeth (Michael) Silta of AuGres and Marion Danielson of St. Ignace; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were two sons-in-law, Joseph Bailog and David Danielson and four siblings, Edmond, Robert, Patricia and Marion.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 12 noon Saturday, January 30 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St Ignace. Rev. Fr. Pawel Mecwel will officiate with burial next to her husband at St. Roch Cemetery, Caseville, tenatively scheduled for Saturday May 22.
