Marge W. (Gottschalk) Young

December 30, 1924 — April 16, 2005

Marjorie W. Young, age 80, of Elkton, died Saturday, April 16, at Sunny Acres Nursing Center.
She was born December 30, 1924, in Jackson to the late Alfred and Lulu (VanEpps) Peavey.
On February 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to Louis A. Gottschalk in Jackson and farmed west of Bad Axe for 32 years. They parted in 1973 and Louis died of cancer August 28, 1983.
Marge married Milton Young, March 11, 1974 in Bad Axe and they farmed south of Elkton many years.
She was a member of the Colfax Methodist Church, past president of the Huron County Historical Society from 1968 to 1974, and a member of the Elkton Historical Society. Marge enjoyed gardening, canning her vegetables and loved fishing. She also had a lot of fun growing, selling and giving away pumpkins from her pumpkin farm at Halloween.
Survived by her husband Milton; two sons, Ronald (Harriet) Gottschalk of Hastings, FL, Samuel (Susan) Gottschalk of Elkton; and her daughter, Gloria (William) LeJeune of Bad Axe; daughters-in-law, Sue Gottschalk and Bonnie Gottschalk both of Bad Axe; thirteen grandchildren, Marsha, Lori, Kimberly, Bill, Bob, Jennifer, Todd, Chrystal, Denise, Cheryl, Kim, Jim and Morgan; 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Norris Peavey of Lakeworth, FL and three sisters, Maxine Kettel of Barryton, Monabelle Bryant of Granite City, IL and Jeanette Hall of Monti, UT.
Preceding her in death, are four sons, Louis Jr, Ralph, John and Alvin Gottschalk and two sisters, Mildred Ellenwood and Marion Brookins.
As per her request private visitation and funeral services will be conducted at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Elkton. Rev Richard Shuart will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.

Memorials may be given to Sunny Acres Activities Fund in care of the funeral home.
