Margie L. Zechmeister

Margie L. Zechmeister, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, following a lengthy illness. Margie was born September 21, 1946 in Caro, the daughter of the late Charles & Marjorie J. (Stock) Maupin and grew up in the Caro area, graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School and finished two years of college. On July 26, 1969 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Matthew L. Zechmeister in Caro. Margie enjoyed being a mother at home with her family and reading to her grandchildren. Margie and Matt traveled a great deal all over the United States when her health allowed. . Margie is survived by her husband, Matthew Zechmeister; their three children, Meredith L. Zechmeister of Saginaw, Matthew S., Ph.D. & Anna Zechmeister of Houston, Texas, Michelle Gilbert of Saginaw; four granddaughters, Brooke & Chelsea Gilbert, Amelia and Adelaide Zechmeister; two sisters, Barbara Dunham of Caro, Kathleen Lauka of Saginaw; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles Maupin. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz and Mary Ann Vandemark of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Campus in Caro officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Saginaw V.A.
