Marguerite V. Gordon, age 88, of Bad Axe, died Saturday evening, July 7, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw. She was born October 23, 1918 in Oliver Twp. at the home of her parents, the late Everett and May (Schember) Cook. In 1937, she was united in marriage to Joseph Bletl, deceased, from Huron County. On October 19, 1963 she married Donald J. Gordon in Toledo, OH and moved to Warren. They lived there until Don retired in 1986, then moved to Bad Axe. Marguerite began doing embroidery work in 1964 and continued doing so until 2000. She was a member of Victory in Christ Community Church, Bad Axe. She was a great cook and enjoyed making treats for family and friends. She loved her family. Marguerite also loved working outside in the yard growing beautiful flowers of all kinds. She loved her cats, taking care of all that came by. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Don; her son, Gerald (Catherine) Bletl of Elkton; daughter-in-law, Pat Smykowski of Detroit; nine grandchildren, Everitt (Sharon) Bletl of Elkton, Gloria (Patrick) McArdle of Pigeon, Matthew (Carissa) Bletl of Bay Port, Laura (John) Walker of Ubly, June (Shawn) McIntyre of Applegate, Billy (Susan) Wolschlager of San Antonio, TX, Michael (Laura) Bletl, Randy (Debbie) Bletl, Jason Bletl all of Detriot; 22 great grandchildren, Everitt Jr., Ashley, Rebecca, Joshua, Derek Bletl, Joseph, Katelyn McArdle, Alex, Brooke, Drake, Jennifer Bletl, Johnny, Jacob , Zackary Walker, Kayla, Travis McIntyre, Brian Wolschlager, Carol, Nichole , Christopher , Megan, Summer Bletl; 2 great great grandchildren, Sarah and Sammy. Preceding her in death was a son, Joseph Bletl Jr; a great granddaughter SueAnn Bletl; her brother Orville Cook and a sister, Clara Mattison. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rev. Stewart Justin, pastor of Victory in Christ Church will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday morning. Memorials may be given to her church.
