Mari Irene (Fisher) MacLean, age 64, of Lexington, MI, formerly of Pinnebog. It is with great sadness that the family announces her sudden passing at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital - Oakland, Pontiac, Michigan, on Saturday, June 27, 2015, due to complications from heart surgery.
Mari was born April 13, 1951, in Bad Axe, to the late John and Helen (McIlhargie) Fisher. She attended North Huron High School, Class of 1969, and graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Social Work. Mari retired from a forty-year career working for the State of Michigan as a Social Worker.
On July 8, 1972, she married David George MacLean at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. She and David were active members of the St. William Parish, Walled Lake, Michigan. Mari recently moved from Walled Lake to Lexington.
Mari especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She celebrated her Polish / Irish heritages. She had a profound love for the land, which included flower and vegetable gardens, and she was a steward of a 165 acre farm. Her many other interests included her love of animals, traveling, music, golfing, and cooking.
She is survived by sisters, Ruth Ann (Edward) Moore, Madalyn O'Connor, Veronica Fisher; brothers, John (Sharon) Fisher, and James (Sally) Fisher; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and their families; her in-laws: Richard (Pam) MacLean, Don (Judy) MacLean, Jean (Vaughn) Cochran, and Jane (Ron) Huepenbecker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David G. MacLean; sister, Rita Grace (Knaus) Sizick; brothers, Douglas Allen Fisher, and Philip Michael Fisher.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 2, at St. Felix Church at Pinnebog, 3515 Limerick Road, Kinde, with Rev. Fr. Robert Paré, pastor officiating. Burial will be held in private at a future date.
Mari's family will receive friends at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, 5495 Pigeon Road, Elkton, from 2:00 - 9:00 PM, Wednesday, and at the church after 10 Am Thursday. A vigil will take place 7:00PM Wednesday with Fr. Joseph Schabel officiating.
