Maria Elva Decaire

Maria Elva DeCaire of Caro, age 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region. Maria was born May 18, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of the late Clemente and Olivia (Gonzalez) Rodriguez. Maria attended Caro High School and went on to obtain her cosmetology license. She worked as a beautician for over 30 years and absolutely loved her clients. On December 11, 2004, Maria was united in marriage to Larry Allen DeCaire, Jr. at Unity Faith Church in Flint. She was a devout woman of faith and would pray for anyone and everyone that was in need. Maria's giving spirit carried on in her volunteering at the hospital and at the church pantry. She loved to shop and always looked like she walked right out of a magazine. Maria never met a stranger and always helped where needed. Her kind, loving, and faithful ways will be missed, yet lovingly remembered for years to come. Maria leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Larry; children, Gilbert (Tina) Varela, Jr., Jim Varela, and Tina (Jesse) Bartz; step-children, Kevan Konsdorf, Christine (Lee) Durga, and Bethann (Cody) Peterson; twenty-two grandchildren; the father of her children, Gilbert Varela, Sr.; three sisters, Lupe Cisnero, Eva Alaniz, and Terry Torres; brother-in-law, Roy DeCaire; sisters-in-law, Linda Martin, Ruth Ann Evans, Sherri Harris, and Teri Conzelmannvos; beloved dog, Peepe; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Maria was welcomed home to heaven by her brother Ramiro Rodriguez. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Living Waters Chapel in Caro with Pastor Earl Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Caro and everyone is invited to a luncheon at Living Waters following the burial.
