Marianne Mae Dast

MariAnne Mae Dast, 90, of Pigeon, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care. She joined her husband Clare, and son, Michael in heaven.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jacquelynn Edwards and husband Daniel of Bad Axe and Michelle Braunschweig and her husband Richard of South Carolina; grandchildren: John Redman and daughter Madisyn, and friend Meera Buckner, Maria Redman, son Nicholas, Amanda and David Ross, Jeremiah and Elizabeth. Michael Braunschweig and Candice Jones, Jeremy and Sarah Braunschweig, daughters Addison and Isla, Stephen and Brittany Braunschweig, Timothy and Briana Braunschweig, sons Greyson and Beau, two sisters-in-law Lois Dast and Elaine Neurath and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and was loved by all of them.
She was highly active in her church, St. John’s Ev. Lutheran-Berne, including a Sunday School teacher, choir, Women’s Society, teacher’s helper at the Christian day school and a willing volunteer. MariAnne was a business owner of Flowers by MariAnne in Pigeon and held an FTD District President position. She was also interested in her community and volunteered and served on several committees. Some of those include Right to Life, Pigeon Historical Society, the Huron Co Nature Center, the Lady Slipper Festival, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and 4-H leader.
MariAnne was passionate about God’s creation of nature and loved her gardens, her woods and her birds. She never met a stranger and was friendly to all she met. Her beautiful gardens were open to all to come through at any time.
A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, May 1st at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Berne with Rev. Steve Neuman officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may gather at church beginning at 10:00am Saturday until the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Martin Luther College Scholarship fund or the charity of your choice.
