Marie Geiger

Marie Geiger, age 86, passed away Monday morning, October 28, 2013. Marie was born July 3, 1927 in Fostoria, MI, to the late John and Elizabeth (Maul) Markert. On April 15, 1945 she married Kenneth Donald Geiger. He passed away May 10, 1989.

Marie worked as a bookkeeper for First of America Bank and at Denners Drug Store. She was a volunteer for Bay Medical (McLaren Bay Region) for several years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Marie is survived by her loving children: Thomas Geiger, Rebecca (Brian) Osantowske, Paul (Pam) Geiger, Judith Renn and Martin (Dorothy) Geiger; grandchildren: Tracy Geiger, Marc Geiger, Kristin (Nicholas) McCreedy, Kevin (Destiny) Norrington, Amy (Jon) Harwood, Travis Renn, Brian (Staci) Geiger, Sandra Geiger (her friend Jason Ganley) and Matthew Geiger; 5 great grandchildren; and brother, Henry (Katie) Markert.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings: Carl Tripple, John Tripple, Alex Tripple, Alex Horst, Fred Horst, Christian Horst, Henry Horst, Emily Horst, Dorthea Wilson, Elizabeth Kruse, Robert Horst, Edward Horst, Otto Horst, Ida Wilson, Kathlyn Markert, Sophie Barrigar, Emma Nixon, John Markert, Fred Markert, Amelia Bolzman, and Anna Dahlberg.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place privately at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church – General Fund.
