Marilyn Fader

Marilyn L. Fader, age 68, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Brians House in Bay City following a short illness. She was born September 27, 1943 in Caro, the daughter of the late Harold and Bernita (Allen) Thane and was a lifelong area resident. She was a Caro High School graduate. In October 14, 1961 the former Marilyn Thane married James R. Smith. She was united in marriage with Norburt Fader, on July 26, 2002. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2006. Marilyn was employed for several years at HDC in Caro as an executive secretary and later at Bay Medical Center as a medical transcriptionist. During her free time, she enjoyed giving and caring for her family and friends as well as the art of cooking. Surviving Marilyn are three children and their spouses, Julie (Smith) & Steven Priestley of Gagetown, Melanie Smith of Sandusky, Krista (Smith) & Robert Dean of Applegate; four step-children and their spouses, Steven & Elaine Fader of Cedarville, Marsha Wright of Caro, Merrie Beth Schad of Huntsville, Alabama and Karen & Kenneth Avery of Caro; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her dear step-mother, Ramona Thane of Caro; four sisters & their spouses, Lois Livingston of Caro, Alice & Ed Slater of Toma, Wisconsin, Jeannie & Gary McPherron of San Diego, California, Elaine & Fred Bardwell of Caro; a sister-in-law, Kay Thane (Allen) Stebbins of Lapeer and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Thane and Leonard Thane. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Caro Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Paul NcNett officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home and on Friday, at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A. M.
