Marilyn E. Jankowski

Marilyn E. Jankowski of Caro, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born August 22, 1933 in White Plains, New York, the daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude (Prynn) Green. She came to Caro as a child and was a 1951 graduate of Caro High School. The former Marilyn Green was united in marriage with Alfred J. Jankowski on October 6, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2015. Her life revolved around her family. When she worked outside the home, she was employed at the Caro State Home and Training School until 1963 and later worked in retail sales in clothing at Ramsower and Webster's men's stores. She finished her working career at Esther's Floral Shop in Caro. She loved music and was an active member of the Caro United Methodist Church and its choir for many years. Her choir activity included being a soloist and a volunteer elementary music teacher. Marilyn is survived by two sons, David & Nancy Jankowski of Birch Run, Gregory & Michelle Jankowski of Troy; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Andrea Jankowski of Troy; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Tanner and his wife, Bailey, of Montrose, Erinn Riedel and her husband, Ricky, of Fredricksburg, Virginia; one great-step-grandchild, Cooper Tanner; one brother, Dr. Walter B. Green of Sarasota; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by one brother, Russell B. Green, and his wife, Candace; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Norbert & Carol Jankowski and Stanley & Marie Goetz. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott A. Harmon officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at noon. In keeping with Marilyn's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral.
