Marilyn Grace Voss

Marilyn Grace Voss was given life by her creator and was born on July 29, 1932, the child of Louis Behr and Leona Shagene. On July 7, 1935 she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On June 13, 1948 she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed. She received the precious gift of the Lord's life-giving body and blood. On March 17, 1951 she received the gift of a beloved companion in her spouse, H. W. Deering. She was blessed with the gift of six children, Bonnie Watson of Decker, Lee & Glenda Deering of Deford, David & Kristy Deering of Deford, Sharon Deering of Bay City, Cathy & Tom Chard of Decker, Rodney Deering of Deford. She married Elmer G. Voss on July 29, 1981, and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2006. She is also survived by her step-children, Margaret LaValley of Caro, Ronald & Linda Voss of Deford, Lee & Sue Voss of Deford, Earl & Beverly Voss of Fairgrove, Paul & Cindy Voss of Caro. In addition to her children and step-children, she is survived by four sisters and one brother, Alvena & Troy Rhinehardt, Audrey & Dale Leslie, Robert & Karen Behr, Beverly & Dale Mitchell, Nancy & Bob Palmer; sister-in-law, Charlotte Behr; any many grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Behr; daughter-in-law, Lisa Deering; and a step-daughter, Karen Voss. God blessed Marilyn's life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. Finally, on April 21, 2016 God blessed Marilyn with a holy death and took her home in rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister, Marilyn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairgrove with Rev. Joshua T. Haller officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at Grace Lutheran Church on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers for Marilyn will be Clint Behr, Lee Fox, Daniel Deering, Brad Deering, Rodney Deering II, Kevin Chard, Kris Chard, Dave Beckrow, Dan Voss and Brian Voss.
