Marion Louise Smith

Marion Louise Smith of Caro, age 88, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 while at Tuscola County Medical Care Community. She was born on July 16, 1938 in Byron, the daughter of the late Frank and Madeline (Vennevy) Smith.

Throughout her working years, she was employed at King’s Motel and Hunt’s Laundromat, where she took great pride in her work and helped with cleaning and maintaining both businesses. She also assisted in the office, handling various administrative duties and accounting responsibilities. Over the years, she developed a special bond with the owners and their children, becoming much more than just an employee. The relationships she built were something she truly valued and cherished.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo whenever she had the opportunity. She was also a devoted Elvis Presley fan and could often be found listening to his music. His songs brought her great joy, and she especially loved dancing. Whether she was enjoying a favorite Elvis tune or spending time at the bingo hall, she found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

She will be remembered for her hardworking nature, the meaningful relationships she formed throughout her life, and her appreciation for the little things that brought her happiness.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Louise Nolan, Betty Wright, and Patty Duran; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Adams; sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louis Smith and Barbara Craig.

In accordance with Marion’s wishes cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Tuscola County Medical Care Community.
