Marjorie Agusta W. Gremel, of Sebewaing, age 90, our dear loving mom, grandma, and great grandma, walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she loved dearly, on November 13, 2011. She resided her last years at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Roger Kuhl of Owosso.
Marjorie Agusta Wilhelmina Gremel was born in Sebewaing on February 12, 1921 to Henry and Matilda (Kain) Nimtz. She married her beloved husband Norman Gremel on December 30, 1944. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1972. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Joyce Kuhl and Joan Matthews. They were passionate about their farm where they grew mostly sugar beets, corn and beans. They also milked cows and raised chickens. Marjorie also worked for the Michigan Sugar Company for many years, as did her husband Norman. The family attended St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh regularly. As a family they took a yearly tour of the thumb area and spent many a night playing cards and dominos.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Joyce (Roger) Kuhl of Owosso, Joan (Fred) Matthews of Decker, grandchildren: Lori (Jeremy) Beard of Ovid, Kevin (Jessa) Kuhl of Oxford, Wayne Kuhl of Pittsburg, PA, Judy (John) Schwaegerle of Garden City, Julie (Matt) Eurich of Westland and James (LouAnn) Matthews of Decker, great grandchildren: Blake, Kayden, Katie, Cooper, Carly, Alyssa, Brayden, Alex, Joshua and Christopher, step great grandchildren: Paul, Tyler and Zachary.
She has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Norman, her parents Henry and Matilda Nimtz, brother Raymond Nimtz, infant great grandson Brecken Hunter Kuhl and infant great granddaughter Janice Hope Schwaegerle, her special friend Michael Prutchick of pigeon, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Marjorie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh where she was baptized, confirmed, married and also attended their school. She belonged to the Widows, helped out at the Ladies Aid dinners, attended Bible study and loved reading her Bible and devotional books.
She enjoyed helping others, gardening, flowers, singing, embroidering, baking, going out to eat, shopping and spending time on her farm. She especially enjoyed Pastor Brian Heidt of St. Phillips Church in Owosso coming over to the house every week to visit and give her communion. She also loved visiting with her family and friends.
Visitation will be at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing on Wednesday from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. Visiting will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service begins at 11am.
Memorial donations may be given to the Lutheran Hour or St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh.
