Marjorie Marie Mitin

Marjorie Marie Mitin, age 91, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Home Sweet Home Assisted Living Facility in Pigeon, Michigan.
She was born in Thurman, Colorado on August 21, 1922 to John and Catherine Yantzi. She graduated from Pigeon High School and the LaJunta Hospital School of Nursing in Colorado.
On June 1, 1946 she was married to John Mitin at the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church and they made their home on a farm near Pigeon. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for 30 years, working at Scheurer Hospital, the Huron Medical Care Facility and the Huron County Health Department.
Marjorie was a faithful, active member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Pigeon where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving in the Women's Missionary Society. She volunteered for numerous civic activities including the American Cancer Drive and the Huron County Census. Her life was embodied by her deep Christian faith and generous,compassionate spirit.
Following retirement, Marjorie and John moved to Port Richey, Florida where they lived for 16 years before moving back to Michigan to be closer to their family. She is survived by "Johnny," her devoted husband of 67 years, loving children David (Gahl) Mitin, Barbara (Dale) Einhardt and Lisa (James) Coe, cherished grandchildren Michael (Lana) Mitin, Tamara Hartman, Adam (Jenee) Einhardt, Emily Einhardt, Alexandria and Madelynn Coe and her adored great-grandchildren Krew and Khloe Hartman and Wyatt Mitin, her sister-n-law Irene Yantzi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Cephas Yantzi and sister Alta Mitin.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church in Pigeon with Rev David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at the New Bay Port Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Salem United Methodist Church, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or Heartland Hospice
Visitation at Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon: Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 2pm through 8pm
and at Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon, on Monday , September 9, 2013, at 10am until time of service.
